How anonymous chat works here
- No registration. You don't give us a name, email or phone number to start chatting.
- A random username. After the 18+ check you get a guest account with a name like “sunny_otter4821”. Change it any time.
- No camera, no microphone. It's text only, so nobody sees your face or hears your voice.
- Your choice to save it. If you want to keep your username, friends and DMs on other devices, you can save your account with Google or email — but you never have to.
What we store (and what we don't)
The full details are in our privacy policy.
- Random chats aren't saved. Messages are checked and delivered, then only held briefly in case someone reports the conversation.
- Your IP address is never shown to anyone, and we only keep a scrambled version of it to enforce bans.
- Messages with friends (DMs and groups) are saved for 90 days so they sync across your devices.
- Public room messages are visible to everyone in the room for 24 hours, then disappear.
How to keep it anonymous
- Pick a username that isn't your real name.
- Don't share your full name, location, school, workplace, phone number or social accounts.
- Be careful with photos and details that could identify you.
- If someone keeps asking where you live or who you are, leave and block them.
Why people choose anonymous chat
- Talking about something you can't bring up with people you know.
- Practising a language without feeling judged.
- Meeting people from other countries and cultures.
- Passing the time with a real conversation instead of scrolling.
