Report someone
Use the ••• menu during a chat, or the Report button on the screen after it ends (for 15 minutes). That's the fastest way — it includes the evidence moderators need.

I'm stuck on “Looking for someone…”+
TextStrangers only matches real people who are searching at the same moment, so quiet times can take a while. If you've added interests, we look for a shared one for a few seconds and then widen the search. If you've turned on “Only speakers of my language”, turning it off in the lobby or Settings will help.
It says TextStrangers is open in another tab+
Only one tab or window can be connected at a time, so refreshing doesn't create duplicate chats. Close the other tab, or press “Use TextStrangers here”.
My message wasn't sent+
Messages are checked before delivery. Links, slurs and some other content are blocked, and sending very quickly or repeating the same message triggers a short limit. You'll see the reason under the message.
The other person disconnected mid-chat+
If their connection drops we wait a few seconds for them to come back. If they don't, the chat ends and you can find someone new.
I was suspended or banned+
Suspensions happen after multiple reports or a moderator's review. Automatic suspensions last 24 hours. If you think it was a mistake, contact us below.
How do I delete my data?+
Open Settings to delete saved chat history, reset your anonymous identity, or clear everything TextStrangers stored in your browser. See the privacy policy for what's kept on our side.
